Pirates of Penzance

Carl had the opportunity last week to participate in Camp Lambert. He and several other kids from our ward worked on the musical Pirates of Penzance, learned how to swing dance and went swimming every day. Carl was skeptical at first but ended up having a fabulous time, especially with performing the play. There is something about the performance part of hard work that is exhilarating.



Carl's part was that of the Sergeant. Here he is pictured with Mabel's sisters just before they realized that they needed to hide because the pirates were coming! He had a solo and everything, "When the Foreman Bares His Steel" (Ta-ran-ta-ra, Ta-ran-ta-ra). It really was thrilling to see as all actors were wonderfully in character, spoke and sung clearly and most importantly LOUDLY! Hurrah for Camp Lambert!
